We are looking for artists who are ready to perform without a net.
Karst Sessions is open to artists across all genres who are based in Sacramento or the surrounding NorCal region. We review submissions on a rolling basis and reach out directly when a session slot becomes available. There is no fee to apply.
One Rule. No Exceptions.
Every artist who records at Karst Sessions performs without pre-recorded backing tracks. This is not negotiable, and it is not meant to be limiting. The rule is the foundation of what makes a Karst Session worth filming. It is what separates a session from a music video.
If you can perform your set live, in full, with only what you and your collaborators bring into the room, we want to hear from you.
What the process looks like.
- Submit your application using the form below.
- Our team reviews submissions and reaches out if your music is a strong fit for an upcoming session.
- We schedule a brief conversation to walk through logistics, technical requirements, and the session format.
- You come in, set up, and perform. We handle the rest.
- Your session is edited, mixed, and released on all Karst Sessions platforms. You receive the files.

- Artists based in Sacramento or the Northern California region.
- Any genre. We value performance quality and authenticity over category.
- Artists who can perform their set live without backing tracks.
- Artists at any career stage, emerging to established.
- Solo performers, duos, and small ensembles. Maximum band size TBD based on studio capacity.
